About Emily

Emily is a transportation professional with extensive policy and legislative experience in San Francisco government. As a community activist, she is primarily engaged on issues of sustainability, transportation, and land use. She brings vision and passion to all of her political work.

Commitment to democratic principles and the local Democratic Party
Emily has been very involved in local Democratic activities, most notably by serving as a Delegate to the State Democratic Convention for the past two years, and by serving on the Executive Board of the Milk Club.

Ability to build consensus
Her politics take a shape that allows her to actively enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and ideological perspectives. She believes that much more progress can be made by working together than by arguing amongst ourselves. She values practicality exercised with integrity over purist ideology.

Understanding of local politics and policy
Emily has a thorough understanding of how the local political scene works. She served as the Executive Director for Walk San Francisco, and has a Master’s of Public Administration degree from SFSU. She has also worked in City Hall as a Legislative Aide (for McGoldrick) and as a Legislative Intern (for Ammiano). Emily currently serves on several appointed governmental bodies - including the MTA Citizens’ Advisory Council (CAC), the SF Better Streets CAC, the Advisory Council for the Air District - and has served on other appointed bodies in the past as well.
